Chapter 15-this is a very happy chapter.  To think that someone could get so used to so much violence.  It is so sad that when they go to see their old commander that they want to hear about his war stories and how many people he has killed.  When the commander asked them to stay the night I knew that this was the moment where he could leave the army.  We don’t have many pages left so it is logical to realize his life is about to change for the better.  When the Commander begun to choose who would stay and who would go, I was so happy for Ishmael.  He was very smart to take his bayonet and a grenade just in case they ran into some rebels.  He could have asked a little nicer though.  They went though a lot of checkpoints.  When the army boys got into a fight with the rebel boy I chuckled to my self.  I can’t believe that the white people who where in charge thought that just because they took them to the city that they wouldn’t try to kill each other.  The fight was very well written in the book I especially liked when his friend saved him from being killed in the middle of the battle. At least they where separated in the end.

Chapter 16- they don’t have much respect for their elders.  They really need their drugs to keep moving in day-to-day life.  Drugs and violence that is, I cant believe they would beat up people from the street just for fun.  I don’t really understand why they took the mattresses out side and the people always brought them back in.

Chapter 17-  i don’t understand why they would tease him for having a girl friend.  You want to have a girl friend right?  She is very nice to him I’m sure they are going to be great friends. I like the flash backs into his past it is very interesting and sad.

i guess the boys are so brainwashed still by the drugs that they won't listen to their elders, or workers. it's too hard for them to work with them, they don't care. and wow, nice bog in the last chapter. i don't think esther is his girlfriend though pff haha.
